Former WCW Manager, Woman/Fallen Angel/Nancy Sullivan & Son Killed by Husband, Chris Benoit

Nancy Sullivan & Chris BenoitThis is, quite possibly, the saddest story that I will ever have to report here. I am still in shock, and have tried to keep this off the site until I could confirm the validity, but as it has already hit the major mainstream news sources, I am now considering it to be fact. Though the story that I am posting is from WWE.com, please remember as you read this that the “Nancy” that they speak of was once one of the great managers/valets in the wrestling world, managing such greats as Kevin Sullivan, Ric Flair, and of course, Chris Benoit. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of everyone involved in this senseless tragedy…

According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

Authorities representing the Sheriff’s Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoit’s new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m.

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities’ findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home.

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks.

WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time.

Not only a sad day for the wrestling world, my friends…a sad day for humanity as a whole.

More News on the Death of “Sensational” Sherri Martel

Sherri MartelLate last week, we reported that the legendary Sensational Sherri had passed away.

After a lengthy investigation, detectives have announced that it is “not a natural death”. Foul play is not suspected at the time. Toxicology tests are currently being run to determine the cause of death.

We’ve also learned that prior to her death, Sherri was working on an autobiography.

Upon hearing about Sherri’s death, the WWE front office had discussions about ending the Vince McMahon Death storyline early, but the final decision was to keep it going. Management also made the decision to cover Sherri’s death on the website and keep it off TV. The reason for keeping it off TV was because Kevin Dunn did not want it to interfere with the McMahon storyline.

Several of the agents are friends with Sherri, so they lobbied hard to get Dunn to change his mind. Michael Hayes, who currently is one of the bigger voices in the back, was able to convince Dunn to change his mind, which is why you saw the quick tribute to Sherri on TV.

On a side note, head Raw writer Brian Gewirtz fought pretty hard to prevent this from happening. He was more concerned with a storyline than he was with doing a tribute to someone who had given so much to the business. That’s pretty disgusting.

We’ll have more on the story as it develops.

RingDivas News: A Short Lived Return for One Ring Diva

Ring DivasMany fans were extremely excited after hearing the news that the fan favorite and All American Girl Next Door Brooke would be returning to in-ring action at the next pay-per-download event. Unfortunately after the card was listed many fans were puzzled that she was not listed on the match listing. Unfortunately Brooke will be unable to return at Capital Punishment as her return was short lived.

Upon returning to the RingDivas Studios Brooke was booked in a match with “The German Giant” Jessicka Havoc where Brooke lasted merely minutes before the German Giant KO’ed her in the middle of the ring. After a long session of being RagDolled and being abused like a play thing Brooke found herself a victim of a brutal attack. The next night upon returning to the studios Brooke was immediately intercepted by the reigning Womens World Champion Empress Sayuri being completely demolished backstage.

A bad night for Brooke to say the least and a short lived return as well.

“Sensational” Sherri Martel Passes Away

Sherri MartelThe following was posted on WWE.com today. The staff of Women’s Wrestling Xposed would like to take this opportunity to send our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Martel. She was truly a legend in this sport, and she will be deeply missed.

WWE is saddened to learn of the death of WWE Hall of Famer “Sensational” Sherri. She was 49.

She passed away at her mother’s home in Birmingham, Ala. Friday morning, according to her husband of 10 years, Robert Schrull.

“It’s a great loss to the wrestling world,” he told WWE.com. The couple resided in St. Petersburg, Fla.

In the early 1980s, Sherri began her career in the AWA. In 1985, she defeated Candi Devine to become the AWA Women’s Champion. Their rivalry lasted more than a year, with the championship trading hands on several occasions.

It was during this time that she began perfecting her skills as a manager, leading “Playboy” Buddy Rose and “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers to the AWA Tag Team Championship. On June 28, 1986, Martel would win the AWA Women’s Championship for a third and final time from Candi Devine.

On July 24, 1987, “Sensational” Sherri debuted in WWE, pinning her trainer and mentor the Fabulous Moolah to become Women’s Champion. Sherri defended the gold against Debbie Combs, Velvet McIntyre, and Desiree Peterson.

She quickly earned the reputation as someone who would do anything to win, even if it meant using unsavory tactics. Her rivalry with Moolah continued as they became the captains for the first-ever female Survivor Series teams in 1989. Sherri held the championship for 15 months before losing to Rockin’ Robin.

In the early ‘90s WWE phased out the Women’s Division, leaving Sherri to focus on managing the male wrestlers. Her first client was “Macho Man” Randy Savage. It was during this time that she became “Sensation Queen.”

The couple had rivals with Miss Elizabeth, Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire. In 1991, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase enlisted her services. After that relationship dissolved, she took on the managerial duties of Shawn Michaels.

In 1994, Sherri appeared in WCW as “Sensuous” Sherri managing Ric Flair during his rivalries with Sting and Hulk Hogan. After separating from Flair, she became “Sister” Sherri guiding Harlem Heat to seven WCW Tag Team Championships.

Sherri was enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase was her presenter.

Indy Diva Alicia Involved in Serious Car Accident

Indy Diva AliciaAlicia, who pretty much is the most dominant female in the NJ area, was involved in a car wreck on Sunday night. Alicia is ok and at home now, but was hospitalized after the crash.

According to Alicia, her car fishtailed while driving home in the pouring rain. The accident was a single-car accident, as Alicia’s steering wheel locked up after fishtailing. Alicia’s car hit a barricade, and actually wound up landing on top of the barricade, ripping open everything underneath the car.

After the accident, three kids who witnessed the accident called the police. Several police officers, firemen & an ambulance responded and helped Alicia away from the accident. Alicia was then rushed to Hackensack hospital for observation.

Several tests and X-rays were ran at the hospital and Alicia was deemed stable. Alicia was given several painkillers and muscle relaxers at the hospital. She was released from the hospital and is currently suffering from several bruises, cuts, a swollen leg & a banged up ear. Obviously, despite having the car totaled beyond repair, Alicia was lucky enough to be able to walk away with minor injuries. She is currently home and resting.

Alicia, who realizes it could’ve been worse, is taking the accident in stride and is lighthearted about it, even telling the one reporter, “Now I know what Danny Demanto feels like when he flips through a chair.”

Due to the accident and her condition, Alicia had to postpone several custom shoots she had lined up. Alicia is not cancelling any indy bookings and will be next appearing at the WSU 6/22 & 6/23 doubleshot weekend shows.

Fans can leave messages for Alicia by visiting her website at Missalicia.com
