Here’s an excerpt from “Rant of the Week” by Phantom Lord,

‘But on the other hand sometimes stuff that shouldn’t work ends up working so brilliantly you can’t help but applaud its greatness.

‘As you know Santino Marella is one of my favorites and now they have him in this relationship with Beth Phoenix. Last week they kissed for some reason after his match but had the looks of what did we just do. This week they agree to keep it strictly professional and after Santino wins their match and does his awesome marching band pose, they have some tension as Santino wants to make a move but Beth keeps scaring him. Finally he’s about to leave and she grabs him and plants one on him and all while this was going on me and Phantom Classic were laughing our asses off. It was so damn funny. It’s easily the best random pairing the WWE has ever done and it can only get better.

‘I personally believe Santino can be the new Roddy Piper, but even if he’s just a comedy act the guy is pure gold. He makes what should not work end up working better then anyone can imagine. Beth and Santino will be Chyna and Eddie for a new generation.

‘Speaking of Beth, how could you not mark out when she pressed D-Lo Brown? As much as I love Mickie James, Beth needs the belt back for an extended run with her just running rough shot over everyone as Santino swoons over her.’

WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James was the top searched term Monday on Yahoo.com. The actual name that was burning up the Yahoo engines was “Alexis Laree”, which was her name on the independent circuit and the name she used while posing in the May 2000 edition of the “leg Show” magazine, an adult publication that focuses on women’s legs.

‘ Hey, I just wanted everyone to know that Dawn Marie won’t be at the Velocity Pro Wrestling on August 16 in Philadelphia that fed has been false advertising her for. She will be at the NWA Legends Fanfest that August 15-17 weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina and has been booked for that event for awhile now. VPW has falsely been advertising her to appear on their upcoming 8/16 show. The last thing that Dawn needs is her reputation be looked down on for something that’s not her fault like her being false advertised, and it’s not fair to her and all you her fans who come to see her. Anyway, just wanted you guys to know – thanks’

Brooke Hogan recently posted on MySpace that she didn’t miss Nick’s birthday:

“Heres how stupid and inaccurate the media can be…

Needless to say, I WAS there for my brother on his birthday because he is my best friend and NOTHING comes before family.”

Brooke says that present at her visit with Nick were her mom, Linda and Linda Oliver from New York- who Nick is reported to be fond of- who Brooke flew in so she could join the hour-long visit, which was done via video. Brooke further says she and her mom were just a foot away from each other for most of the time at the jail, but they “didn’t even make eye contact.”

Brook later said in an interview with People.com that she feels that Nick’s time in jail and especially his time in solitary confinement have ‘broken his spirit.’ “When they put him in solitary, he was on the outs. I was worried about him, and his safety, and his well-being.”

“His personality is slowly coming back,” Brooke says. Brook’s family gets to visit Nick three times a week now, but “it sucks” because, “I can’t just walk over to his room and give him a hug, or talk to him, or confide in him.”

Nekesa Mumbi Moody of The Associated Press interviewed Brooke Hogan recently. Brook claims in the interview that the decision to do another reality show is to benefit her music career and that the throughout the first four shows, she didn’t have her stuff together. When asked if the reality show tore her family apart, Brook answered that she doesn’t think that a camera and a cameraman can destroy a family and that her parents were fighting. Nakesa Mumbi asks Brooke Hogan how she has dealt with her brother not being around?

‘It’s really, really hard because I feel like our whole lives I was able to protect him … and now I had to watch him walk away in handcuffs and I couldn’t do anything about it. It’s hard because he’s like my best friend. I mean, I have friends, but my brother is really the one person who I can confide in and talk to about anything. So it’s tough because everything that we talk about now is recorded. And we saw what happened with that.’

How did she and her mother get so far apart?

‘My mother and I naturally have a tremendous bond, there’s like a bond that you just can’t break with us. … Right now, I’m just really disappointed with her and I feel like I wish I could talk to her, but you just can’t. It’s one of those kind of things where, I am a very straight-laced person and maybe that makes it even harder for me to see the path that she’s going down as being right, but I look at her now and I’m like, “You were my hero at one point. Why are you making these weird choices?” I don’t understand it. I definitely don’t condone what’s going on. I definitely don’t think it’s cool who she’s dating. I think it’s ridiculous, but at the end of the day she’s my mother and I will still respect her and love her but right now. … I just have to love her from a distance for now.’

Was she at one point as disappointed in her dad?

‘My dad and I had a little bit of a tiff earlier this year, and that kind of stuff I really don’t want to talk about now, but I was disappointed for a minute. But what I respect about my dad is he comes forth and he tells the truth, and he’s a very honorable person. I respect him a lot. He, I know deep down, has a good heart. Honesty with me goes such a long way that once the truth comes out and that person can be man enough to tell you the truth, it gives me an even higher respect for them than before.’

Is Brook Hogan dating anyone?

‘I was actually dating somebody that I’ve actually known since I was 15, and that was a great experience and I’m still really, really close to him and I still really love him, but we just recently kind of broke it off, so it didn’t seem right anymore. So as of right now, I’m single.’
